THE TREASURE OF THE 3 KINGS
What to do in Carcassonne ? What to do in the old city of Carcassonne ? A treasure hunt, of course !
You will be the heroe of the following story :
It is called the Treasure of the 3 kings because three kings owned it by turns. First stored in King Salomon's cellars, it became in 70 the property of the emperor Titus, during Jerusalem's taking. Titus brought this treasure (tons of gold, silver and precious items) back to Rome. These wealthes staid at Rome for 340 years. In 410, Alaric the 1st, king of the Visigoths, took Rome, plundered the town and grabbed the famous treasure. He died shortly afterwards ans the Visigoths set up in our Region.
In 507 the Francs beat the Visigoths who hid the treasure in the old City of Carcassonne. From that moment everybody lost track of it... Some people affirm it is still there …
